NEPC trains local producers on global competitiveness

Nigerian Export Promotion Council (NEPC) has trained over 100 local producers to produce quality and hygienic goods to gain international acceptance, grow the economy and create jobs.

The Southsouth Regional Coordinator of NEPC, Mrs. Azuka Ikejiofor, stated this in Port Harcourt during a sensitisation workshop on ‘Effective Quality Control Measures in Aflatoxin and Mycotoxin Contaminants in Processed Agric Products for Standardisation, Packaging Procedures for Non-oil Exportable Products’.

It said the free trade policies had made a good number of products to be pushed into the global market arena unguarded.

The situation, according to the council, attracted negative reports on some Nigerian products and led to myriad of rejections of some food exports. She said over the years, the country faced the challenge of its local products entering into the international market due to low standard.
